 On Friday June 8th,Indianapolis firefighters responded to a structure fire on Leonardo St. on the southeast side of Indianapolis. The 2 family duplex was vacant and was ruled arson by the investigators. There appears to be arson fire involving a vacant building almost every day. The law enforcement community is very aware of the risks to the general public.
The general public is beginning to become scared about the rampant arson fires and are beginning to voice their concerns.
The rash of suspected arson fires continued on Sunday morning, according to an article in the Evansville Courier and Press when the firefighters had to respond to the 13th suspected arson fire that did $1000 damage to a garage. The one on Friday, pictured here, caused about $125,000 damage to the duplex. One firefighter was treated for a slight injury. A suspect of previous fires who had been in jail since June 1st,  was released due to lack of evidence.
